Manuals of Russian language and literature handed over to JNU

On January 25, thanks to the joint efforts by the Russian Embassy in New Delhi, Millenium Indian International Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MIICCIA) and Russian-Indian Amicability Diplomatic Club, the JNU Center of Russian Studies (CRS) received over fifty modern textbooks of the Russian language and literature. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Satish Chandra Garkoti, JNU Rector II, Prof. Ranjana Banerjee, CRS Chairperson, Mr Gaurav Ravish, MIICCIA Additional Director, Mr Abdul Basit, Amicability Vice President, Mr Anatoly Kargapolov, Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Embassy and other Russian diplomats, professors and students of the University, Russian compatriots.

Boris Grebenschikov Gave a Concert in New Delhi

On January 18, eminent musician, the leader of the legendary Aquarium group Boris Grebenshchikov, who has had a special interest in Indian culture for a long time and often visits India, gave a concert at the Russian Embassy Club in New Delhi. The audience comprised of ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps of the CIS countries, employees of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Russian language teachers from leading Delhi universities, as well as staff of Russian organizations and compatriots living in New Delhi.

Traditional Masquerade Ball in New Delhi

On January 11, 2019, the annual costumed Masquerade ball, devoted to the traditional celebration of Orthodox Christmas Day and the Old New Year, took place at the Russian Embassy in India. The function saw the presence of numerous guests comprising of prominent Indian politicians and public figures, representatives of the scientific and cultural elite, diplomatic community, famous businessmen, experts, journalists, Russian studies lecturers from leading Indian universities, as well as staff members of Russian organizations and Russian compatriots living in New Delhi.

On June 12, Russian Embassy in New Delhi hosted a solemn function on the occasion of the National Day of Russia. The festive event saw the presence of the Indian MEA representatives and officials from other ministries, 50 heads of diplomatic missions and senior diplomats of the diplomatic corps in New Delhi, military attaches, prominent Indian politicians and public figures, representatives of the scientific and cultural elite, famous businessmen, political scientists, journalists, staff members of Russian organizations and Russian compatriots living in India. Minister of External Affairs of India H.E. Mrs. Sushma Swaraj attended the function as a Chief Guest from the Indian side.

Immortal Regiment Campaign In New Delhi

On May 7, the “Immortal Regiment” campaign took place at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi with the support of the Russian Embassy in India and the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots to mark the 73rd Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The solemn event saw participation of Indian politicians and public figures, journalists, Russian studies lecturers from leading Indian universities, ambassadors and officials of the diplomatic missions of the CIS countries in New Delhi and their families, as well as Russian compatriots living in India.

On April 8, Orthodox believers celebrated Holy Resurrection Sunday with solemn Easter services at the Russian Embassy in India. First all-India conference of young compatriots

The first edition of All-India Conference of Young Compatriots was held at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in New Delhi on February 24, 2018, with the support of the Embassy of Russia in India and the Intergovernmental Commission for compatriots abroad. It saw the participation of delegates under 30 years from New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Calcutta, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi.
