Russian Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and Indian Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and India at the exhibition forum "Russia" at the VDNH.
The parties touched upon topical issues of interaction in trade, investment, financial and banking, transport and logistics spheres, in the areas of energy and food security. Particular attention was paid to promoting priority industrial cooperation projects.
“Over the recent years, despite the challenges our countries face, bilateral trade and economic ties have been developing rapidly. There is no doubt that the Russian-Indian trade turnover at the end of this year will overcome the milestone of 50 billion USD and be an all-time high,” noted Denis Manturov.
Following the negotiations, in the presence of the co-chairs of the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor) of Russia and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization of India.
Before the meeting, Denis Manturov and Dr S Jaishankar visited the “Made by us” pavilion of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the “Atom” pavilion.
