Rosneft Oil Company CEO Igor Sechin made a working visit to India. He had a number of meetings with representatives of the Indian government and the leadership of the country's largest oil and gas companies.
Issues pertaining to the further expansion of the comprehensive cooperation in the energy sector between Rosneft Oil Company and Indian companies along the entire technological chain as well as capabilities of mutual settlements in national currencies were discussed in detail.
The sides also noted a significant trade increase between Russia and India. According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, Russia for the first time in history has entered the top five largest trading partners of India — the volume of trade between the countries in 2022 reached $38.4 billion. “Thus, the goal set by the leaders of our countries to increase trade to $30 billion by 2025 has been achieved ahead of schedule,” the head of Rosneft said.
During the visit, Rosneft and the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. signed an agreement on a significant increase in oil supplies to India and diversification of its grades. The document was signed by Igor Sechin and Chairman of the Indian Oil Corporation Shrikant Madhav Vaidya. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of India's Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri.
