Indian audience delighted with the Vainakh Ensemble
On December 9, the Vainakh Chechen State Dance Company performed in New Delhi. The tour of this famous ensemble was the final chord in a series of events held across India fr om October to December, 2018 within the framework of the Days of Russian Culture.<br />
The prestigious metropolitan Kamani Auditorium concert hall was fully packed and saw fiery male and lyrical female Chechen, Abkhazian, Georgian dances performed with high skill and genuine Caucasian temperament. The spectators, some of whom had to stand in the aisles because of the full house, were fascinated by the beauty of folk melodies, by the original staging and the virtuosity of the Vainakh performing technique, the alma mater of the famous USSR national artist Mr Mahmud Esambayev.<br />
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, the political elite, the artistic community and compatriots.<br />
Before the concert, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, Mr Mikhail Degtyarev, addressed the audience. He arrived in New Delhi as a member of the Russian parliamentary delegation headed by the State Duma Chairman Mr Vyacheslav Volodin.<br />
The Russian Ambassador to India H.E. Mr Nikolay Kudashev in an interview at the end of the concert stressed that sincere enthusiastic response of the audience is a confirmation of the deep sympathy between the peoples of Russia and India. “The most beautiful thing is when people speak to each other in the language of trust, art, love. This is typical of our nations and especially important right now, when humankind faces very difficult challenges: terrorism, transnational crime, drug trafficking”, said the head of the diplomatic mission.<br />

The Vainakh continued the Indian tour with performances in Chandigarh and Hyderabad, wh ere it was also greeted with genuine admiration.
