Feature film “Afanasy Nikitin. A Journey Beyond the Three Seas” screened at the Russian Embassy’s school
On the occasion of the upcoming Russian Diplomats' Day the feature film “Afanasy Nikitin. A Journey Beyond the Three Seas” was screened on February 8, 2024, at the Russian Embassy’s school.
It was introduced by an interactive lecture, where students learnt about the course of the journey and its significance for future contacts between Russia and India.
The brave Tver merchant Afanasy Nikitin, sitting foot in India in the latter half of the XV century, has outpaced British, Dutch and Portuguese travelers. His legendary voyage and the book written about India have become the symbols of Russian-Indian friendship.
