Traditional masquerade ball in New-Delhi

On January 10, 2020, the traditional annual costumed Masquerade ball, devoted to the celebration of Orthodox Christmas Day and the Old New Year, took place at the Russian Embassy in India.<br />
<br />
The function saw the presence of prominent Indian politicians and public figures, representatives of the scientific and cultural elite, diplomatic community, famous businessmen, political scientists, journalists, Russian studies lecturers from leading Indian universities, as well as staff members of Russian organizations and Russian compatriots living in New Delhi visited the ball among numerous guests.<br />
<br />
At the main hall of the diplomatic mission, decorated with a Christmas tree from Moscow, the guests got together in bright costumes portraying various colourful characters: Darth Vader and Darth Maul, Jon Snow and Daenerys, Pinocchio and Malvina, Snegurochka, Scheherazade, Joker, pirates, musketeers, boyars and maharajas. Many guests attended the ball in colorful Russian and Indian national dresses.<br />
<br />
H.E. Mr Nikolay Kudashev, Ambassador of Russia, gave a congratulatory speech, introduced to the public the new Trade representative Mr A.L. Rybas and announced the winners in the competition for the best fancy dress: the first prize went to Mr Laszlo Pallos, Defence Attache of the Hungarian Embassy, dressed as a band member from ABBA. <br />

The artists from Moscow Cossack Choir  performed at the event.<br />
The masquerade at the Russian Embassy was covered by the journalists from the leading media in India, who prepared colorful reports of the event.<br />
