The first «Ganga-Volga Dialogue of Civilizations» conference

On January 22, 2020, the first “Ganga-Volga Dialogue of Civilizations” Conference, organized by Dr S.P. Mookerjee Research Foundation with the support of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, was held in New Delhi.<br />
<br />
The event was mainly aimed at discussing the potential of further strengthening of strategic partnership between Russia and India through the lens of the two great civilizations' history and prospects of the Greater Eurasian Partnership formation.<br />
<br />
Prominent politicians, scientists and cultural figures from India and Russia shared opinions on the current state of relations between the countries and prospects for their development. The speeches at the conference were made by H.E. Mr N.R. Kudashev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India, Mr Sh.V. Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India, Mr Sh.Pоddar, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Amb A. Mukherjee, Former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, Dr A. Ganguli, Director of the S.P. Mookerjee Research Foundation, Dr T.L. Shaumyan, Head of the Center for Indian Studies under the RAS Institute of  Oriental Studies, Dr E.M. Kozhokin, vice-rector for scientific affairs at MGIMO. <br />
<br />
The participants agreed that the conference should be held regularly and become an effective, results-oriented platform for the development of bilateral cooperation.<br />
