Photo exhibition “Alexander Kadakin – Diplomat Par Excellence”
The ceremony saw the presence of politicians, scholars, journalists, cultural figures, businessmen, Russian compatriots and diplomats including Ambassadors of Belarus and Kazakhstan. Salman Khurshid, former Minister of External Affairs of India, was the chief guest of the event. <br />
Mr Roman Babushkin,Minister-Counsellor of Russian Embassy, noted that Alexander Kadakin was an epitome of Soviet-Indian and then Russian-Indian friendship, stood at the roots of strategic partnership, which marks 20th anniversary this year.<br />
Alexander Kadakin passed away on January 26, 2017, in New Delhi after a fulminating disease. A street in New Delhi is named after him. He was posthumously decorated with Padma Bhushan, one of the top civilian awards in India.
