Military contingent from India took part in Center-2019 drills

The command-and-staff military drills Center-2019, headed by the Chief of General Staff – First Deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation, were held on September 16-21, 2019, in accordance with the Plan of Training of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for 2019.

Military contingents from the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of India, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan were engaged in the drills for exercising in coordinated operations.The command-and-staff drills Center-2019 were held in two phases.

A 140 strong military contingent of the Republic of India took part in the maneuvers at the Donguz training ground in Orenburg region.A low-high-attitude helicopter born landing operation, carried out jointly with the Indian military, was among the exercised actions.

In the result of the maneuvers, Major Arvind Sharma, Senior Lieutenant Gurnaz Singh, Senior Warrant Officer Ahmed Nishar, Warrant Officer Sunil Kumar, Sergeants Anand Singh and Suresh Kumar, Junior Sergeants Kalimuddin and Surender Singh, Privates Arun Kumar and Deepak Kumar were among the 10 representatives of the Indian Armed Forces, recommended for decoration by the medal “For Strengthening the Military Commonwealth” of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
