International Roerich Memorial Trust Board of Trustees Meets in Shimla
At the meeting, the new membership of the Board expanded by including the NRC representatives was approved. The proposals by A.P.Losyukov to establish a permanent task force of the IRMT BOT, to organize regular exchanges between scholars from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, other Russian cities and their Indian counterparts on the Roerichs’ heritage and related issues as well as to conclude an agreement on cooperation between the IRMT and the NRC were met with interest.
The BOT members have approved in principle the draft concept plan of the development of the Roerichs’ Memorial Estate, prepared by a group of specialists from the Moscow Architectural Institute (MARKHI) headed by Mr E.V.Polyantsev, Chair, Department of Renovation in Architecture, MARKHI, in accordance with the Agreement between the IRMT and the International Roerich Centre (IRC) signed in 2012.
Decisions on a wide range of issues concerning daily activities of the museum were taken.
The meeting confirmed the commitment of the Russian Embassy in India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh as well as Russian and Indian public to further jointly contribute to the transformation of the Roerichs’ Memorial Estate to a world-class scientific, educational and cultural center with broad international contacts which will not only continue to bring together the peoples of Russia and India but also serve the cause of implementation of the Greater Eurasia project resonating with the Roerichs’ unifying humanistic ideas.
