Days of Moscow in New Delhi
At the business conference, officials and business leaders discussed the state and prospects of economic and humanitarian cooperation between the twin towns – Moscow and New Delhi. Special emphasis was put on the necessity of mutual support of investors, elimination of trade barriers, development of cooperation in implementation of infrastructure projects, introduction of Smart cities technologies, as well as energy, engineering, IT sector, electronics, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food, consumer goods industry, education. The parties also touched upon the issues of supporting small and medium businesses and local manufacturing content; held presentations on Moscow, Moscow Region, New Delhi and a number of Russian companies.
The pinnacle event of the cultural program was an amazing gala concert at the Siri Fort Auditorium by N. Nadezhdina State Academic Choreographic Ensemble Berezka and the QUATRO group. The musical performance was inaugurated by the welcome video address from the International Space Station. The Delhiites had an opportunity to learn more about Russian capital and its holidays at the photo exhibition "Festivals of Moscow" at the lobby.
The program of the festival also included a lecture held by Russian cosmonaut Sergei Revin, master classes, simultaneous game sessions attended by grandmaster Ivan Popov, the screening of "T-34" movie and a photo exhibition on space exploration.
The Days concluded with the gala reception at the Russian Embassy on behalf of Moscow Government. The function brought together members of political, business and artistic circles of the Indian capital, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps. H.E. Mr Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel, attended the event as the chief guest. He emphasized the exceptional nature of the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between Russia and India; readiness of Indian leadership to contribute to its strengthening. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, and Sergey Cheremin in their addresses commended the success of the festival and expressed confidence that the Days of Moscow would further deepen the interaction between the capitals of the two countries in the fields of economy, culture, education and urban development. The performance of Moscow Cossack Choir contributed to the festive mood of the solemn event.
